Synthetic Seismograms
Apex generates synthetic seismograms on each job where appropriate well logs are available. Synthetic seismograms are used to integrate sub-surface geology with geophysics. They also help determine a correct time to depth function as well as phase of the data. Out of phase seismic will often give false hydrocarbon indicators resulting in unsuccessful wells. Apex uses the NeuraScanner to convert paper well logs to retrievable electronic images. After conversion the Geotechs use Neuralog software to create LAS files. The LAS files are used to generate either theoretical wavelets or extract statistical wavelets from 2d or 3d traces.
